Clinical Supervision
At Elevated Solutions Counseling, clinical supervision is provided by Owner and CEO Shonda Phillips-Young, LCSW-S. Please visit her therapy bio for more information about her clinical and leadership experience.
Our Supervision Philosophy
Supervision is a vital relationship between the supervisor and the supervisee, focusing on developing competence, demeanor, and ethical practice. The supervisor plays a crucial role in guiding the supervisee to apply social theory and standardized knowledge effectively within their practice setting. We believe that a trained professional clinical supervisor is essential in facilitating the professional growth of the supervisee. This growth is achieved through consistent support, constructive feedback, and fostering an environment of continuous learning and reflection. We accomplish this by focusing on the following key factors:
-
Monitoring client welfare
-
Encouraging compliance with legal, ethical, and professional standards
-
Teaching therapeutic skills
-
Providing regular feedback and evaluation
-
Providing professional experiences and opportunities
We also believe that supervisees have the right to engage with supervisors who demonstrate cultural sensitivity and can openly address the impacts of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, and class on the clinical and supervision processes.
At Elevated Solutions Counseling, we are committed to these principles. Our mission is to develop the skill sets of future clinicians while maximizing their growth potential. We take pride in nurturing clinicians who are culturally competent, theoretically grounded, empathetic, and capable of critical thinking.

Content
Supervision sessions will encompass a comprehensive review of all cases, as well as the analysis of audiotapes and videotapes. Additionally, live supervision of actual sessions may be included. Supervisees will be encouraged to explore and establish a theoretical orientation that can effectively guide their work with clients. You can anticipate receiving verbal feedback and/or informal evaluations during each supervisory session. Meetings will occur face-to-face in our private practice setting to ensure confidentiality.
Furthermore, we offer group clinical supervision at your site, which is particularly beneficial for agencies, hospitals, or organizations that employ multiple LMSW-level clinicians but may lack sufficient time or available supervisors. Please contact us for more information.
